Dr. Victoria Miles is an experienced educator with a passion for student success.  Over the past 30 years, she has served as a classroom teacher, principal and district administrator.  Her work has been in urban and suburban districts in Illinois, California, Missouri and Texas. Years before the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, she believed that all children could learn. It is her philosophy that “each child” can learn when given the appropriate resources, adequate time, and taught according to their learning styles.

Dr. Miles strives to make the classroom a positively intentional environment that is conducive to learning for the students and conducive to teaching for the teacher. She realizes that many times students come to school with concerns that need to be addressed prior to implementing instruction. This requires developing a relationship with students, learning about their backgrounds, accepting and appreciating their cultures. She agrees with Madeline Hunter when she said, “Kids don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care!” 

Dr. Miles understands that teachers need research based, proven, practical strategies and applications that they can start implementing immediately – without throwing anything out that is working in their classroom. Many times, children do not come to school with the social skills needed to be successful in school; they must be taught. She believes it is imperative that classroom management skills are taught and reinforced daily to ensure a positively intentional environment.

Dr. Miles is dedicated to helping educators be successful through motivation, inspiration, humor and a common-sense approach to classroom management. Most importantly, she provides educators with as many proven, practical strategies as she can.
